CONTINUING A TRADITION

History

Timeless Elegance

The Kindler Hotel inhabits two buildings that have played an important role in the economic development of Lincoln. The Lincoln Commercial Club purchased the lot in 1912 to host its headquarters, and the four-story brick and terra cotta clad building was completed in 1913. The Lincoln Commercial Club became the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce in 1920, and the chamber promoted Lincoln as a trade center from the building until 1967, when it moved to another downtown location.

Over the past one hundred years, the building’s neo-classical architectural features, like its stunning grand ballroom, fell into disrepair and disuse.

The Kindler Hotel is proud to restore the building to its former glory and is humbled to have the opportunity to breathe new life into the space.
